Warranty coverage

Applicable warranty

The applicable category warranty is shown in the live warranty table on this page. The relevant product detail page also displays the product warranty specification. A product-specific warranty that is expressly stated for a particular product should be read together with the category policy.

What may be covered

Depending on the product and the warranty stated for it, a qualifying manufacturing defect may include faulty stitching, abnormal seam failure attributable to manufacture, defective hardware or attachment, abnormal material separation attributable to manufacture, or another construction defect present despite normal use.

What is not normally a manufacturing defect

Normal wear and tear, scratches or scuffs from use, natural grain and pores, normal patina or tonal development, minor natural colour or finish variation, misuse, overloading, accidental damage, unsuitable storage, excessive water or heat, solvents, alcohol, perfume, harsh cleaning chemicals, or unauthorised repair or alteration are not normally manufacturing defects.

Statutory rights

OTTER's voluntary warranty does not remove or reduce rights and remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including remedies for an actually defective, wrong or materially misdescribed product.

How to make a warranty claim

  1. Contact OTTER

Send the order or invoice details, a description of the issue and clear photographs where reasonably possible to support@otter.net.in.

  2. Assessment

OTTER may review photographs, order information and product history and may request the product for physical inspection where necessary to determine whether the issue is a qualifying manufacturing defect.

  3. Remedy

If a claim is accepted, OTTER will provide an appropriate remedy having regard to the defect, product condition, available stock, applicable warranty and law. Depending on the circumstances, this may include repair, replacement, refund or another appropriate solution.

Product care

Genuine leather

Genuine leather naturally varies and may soften, develop tonal changes and form a patina through normal use. No two pieces are necessarily identical.

Routine care

Keep leather reasonably dry, remove surface dust gently with a clean soft cloth, and allow damp leather to dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heaters or hair dryers.

Chemicals and heat

Avoid prolonged strong sunlight or heat and avoid perfume, alcohol, sanitiser, solvents, harsh detergents and other unsuitable chemicals on leather and hardware.

Shape and storage

Avoid overloading wallets, bags or card holders. Store the product in a dry, ventilated place and avoid long-term compression or unnatural folding.

Conditioners and cleaners

Before using a leather cleaner or conditioner, follow the product instructions and test it on a small inconspicuous area because finishes may respond differently.
